Life course persistent offenders, …

… also known as psychopaths.

These individuals account for 1% of the general population, 25% of the prison population, and 50% of all crime.  Put differently, 10% of the population commit 90% of the crime; but this one tenth of the criminals, commit five times as much crime.

A good article from “The Atlantic” …

… about homelessness, addiction and crime.

It’s a very long article.

I read the whole thing, and it was worth it for me, given that this individual sounds like any of so many of my homeless neighbors.
