CVS
Visited site using a Mac in a different part of the church office. Had to change password. Was unable to access any information about my previous applications. No current openings suitable for me in Maryland. Will need to ask someone more familiar with this terminal to help me turn on the sound.
The availability of this terminal to me is a game-changer, as I will be able to access numerous other sites, e.g. Target, that had only been available to me at the library. However, I will also need someone to teach me the basic Mac keyboard shortcuts; I’m only familiar with Windows.

I graduated from a college located deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I worked the cash register at an appliance store after class to make a little extra beer and gas money. This store sold ovens, refrigerators, televisions and stereo systems but the big seller was satellite television dishes. Keep in mind, this was 35 years ago. Cable television was only available in densely populated areas and satellite dishes weren’t the cute little contraptions we mount on the side of our houses today, these were big ass, six-foot wide, got their own zip code dishes.

There were two big cash crops in this community (not counting moonshine), Christmas trees and burley tobacco. After selling their burley corp, and after Christmas, families who lived deep, deep in the nook and crannies of the mountains that surrounded this community would come to town with a fat roll of bills in the pockets of their overalls…

o Special needs coming soon

☺Please donate!☺

I have two specific needs coming up very, very soon.

For the past month, I have relied upon certain resources to cover the rent at the shelter, $21/week.  These are about to run out, possibly as soon as next week.  The happiest outcome would be if someone could find it possible to cover this on an ongoing basis.

Second, my state ID comes up for renewal at the end of August.  I must do this online.  It will cost me $24 for an eight-year renewal.  A donation of $25 should take care of this.

I am most grateful to all those who would like to help out, even if, in the real world, they can’t.  Also grateful to those who can.  God bless y’all real good!

o Urgent need — GoFundMe update

I don’t like bringing messages like this, but it also doesn’t pay to be silent.

I’m in a “moment.”  God willing, it will be, and I believe it will be, a moment; but it is what it is.  For the moment, I’m in urgent need.

As of 12:30 Friday 04/29/16, I have $6 cash and some change.  The first $50 GoFundMe raised, has been exhausted; my bank balance is too low for me to be able to use the card.  I will shortly pick up some prescriptions, but not all, as there are a couple $1 co-pays I can’t pay.  The shelter has waived my rent through Monday, but they’re not going to do this forever.

Anything anyone can manage to give at this moment will be most appreciated.

o GoFundMe update

I’ve now updated my resume and have a PRETTY online version — but haven’t found a way to make the online version public. All the display sites I found demand graphics, and I am, like, SOOOO not into visuals.

There is also the limitation that, were I to connect to an online version from here, it would “blow the cover” of my stage name.

I might find a way to make it available to donors on request (hint, hint) …

Meanwhile, I can’t take lots of time trying to create a nice web page that won’t directly be involved in my finding work — at McDonald’s, or Dunkin’ Donuts, or 7-Eleven, etc. I probably should update my resume at CareerBuilder and Indeed; but otherwise, it’s time to start submitting actual applications online (e.g. Target, Save-A-Lot) and pounding the pavements.

Wish me luck!

* 8 Major Problems with Drug Treatment in Prison

“It’s a proven fact that prison doesn’t do anything for drug addiction — nothing. Then when they come back they’re recidivists. If you say prison is for punishment, fine. But if you say it’s so people don’t come back then you’ve got to do something so they don’t come back.”

* The indigo children: Where are they now?

Some generations are just more religious than others, some less.  The worldwide indifference of millennials towards faith may not spell the end of religion; it may just represent the influx of a large group of souls who happen, as a group, to be less religious than others.

This, along with the prospect of a forthcoming post about auras, recalled to me the supposed influx of another cohort of souls: the indigo children.
