It’s just that so many great thinkers and artists have used drugs or drink. It’s an unverifiable claim to assert that they could have been more creative and productive without the substances.
Even for the average Joe who can be productive–not an addict–partying can be a good safety valve, a good way to blow off steam.
Frankly, today is one of those days where I’m feeling so naturally good that I wonder why I ever drink at all. And of course I’ve got a little $. But other days are different. And I drink for different reasons at different times.
It depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.
